Dr. Melrose received her Doctoral degree from an APA accredited training program in Counseling Psychology at The University of Texas at Austin. She also received her Master of Arts degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from Southern Methodist University and her B.A. in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin. In addition, she completed an internship at the University of Houston and a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Southern California, both of which are accredited by the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers.
Over the course of her training, Dr. Melrose worked with numerous individuals, couples, and families in outpatient community mental health agencies and university counseling centers. Dr. Melrose also has specialized training treating and diagnosing academic difficulties and attention deficit disorders with college student populations.
Dr. Melrose’ s focus in her private practice includes pre-teen, adolescent, college aged and young professional populations. She has worked with numerous clients in private practice and has treated various presenting issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, eating and body image concerns, academic and career difficulties, diversity concerns, family conflicts, difficult life transitions, and intimate relationship concerns. Dr. Melrose is frequently sought after for her ability to connect and work effectively with adolescents, college students, and young adults.
